What are the costs of Probate?

The costs of Probate include court fees, appraisal fees, and the statutory fee for the Executor or Personal Representative and Attorney.

This statutory fee is set by the State of California and is calculated based on the value of the Probate estate. The following provides an estimate of the statutory fee to be paid.

4% On the first $100,000.00

3% On the next $100,000.00

2% On the next $800,000.00

1% On the next $9,000,000.00

0.5% On the next $15,000,000.00

For all amounts above twenty-five million dollars ($25,000,000.00), a reasonable amount to be determined by the court.
